Frequently Asked Questions
How does your consultation process work?
Before agreeing to represent a potential client, we request specific documentation, review their file, and have a detailed conversation to determine what, if anything, can be done to achieve their desired outcomes and whether our firm can assist. We charge an initial fee for this thorough consultation. Please submit a contact form or call our office at (718) 973-9370 for more information regarding the types of documents we will need to review in order to advise you appropriately, as well as the methods of submitting documentation.
Where do consultations take place?
We work remotely, so consultations take place via telephone or video conferencing (i.e., Zoom, Google Meets, or Microsoft Teams). If for some reason you are unable to access these methods of communication, please contact us to see if it is possible to schedule an in-person meeting at our office building.
What happens after a consultation?
If a potential client wishes to retain The Goodwin-Oquendo Law Firm, P.C. to assist, a separate retainer fee is charged and a retainer agreement must be signed. No legal work will be done until The Goodwin-Oquendo Law Firm, P.C. has received both a signed retainer agreement and fee.
Does retaining The Goodwin-Oquendo Law Firm, P.C. mean that I have to file a lawsuit?
No, it does not. In fact, nearly all of our successful cases did not involve a lawsuit.
What forms of payment does your firm accept?
We accept all major credit cards, ACH payments, wire transfers, and Pay Later (an installment plan available through Law Pay).
